He loses his tongue on the first syllable, only able to wrap his arms around his friend in return. Gunvolt squeezed Vivi a little tighter than he normally would, desperately trying to center himself. The calming, radiant bubble around them reduced the amount of miasma coming in, allowed his senses to stabilize though. Enough that he was able clear his head after a moment.
"...Yeah. Hallucination. That's all it was. Some baggage about Asimov getting drudged back up."
He's putting on a brave face, but few probably know the struggles he had with Asimov's betrayal better than Vivi. Along with Desi, Ky, Monarch, and Lia, Vivi heard more about how he tried to deal with that. Even with therapy, healthy coping, and time... it seems that like the scar from the orichalcum bullet Asimov put through his chest, some of those wounds never fully faded from his subconscious.
But while those wounds never absolutely faded... they still had healed, mostly. And it was enough to remind him how wrong Asimov was, his friend here... a non-human who cared about him so deeply.
"...I think I need to get back to a safe zone for a little while. There's a lot more to do and I can't be holding people back when the chips are down."
