The winter winds have cut through Soleil now, snow freely falling. The day is gray, but the sun's light still manages to bring pale illumination to the world filtered through the heavy clouds hanging in the sky. It might sound a bit dreary, but the truth was, it was quite... lovely, in its own way. Most of the campus of Daybreak Academy was relatively quiet, with people being outside largely to only get where they need to go, or the ones inclined to play and frolic in the snow.
But all of that was destined to change... as a veritable horde of
penguin-like creatures descended onto the campus. They came in a few different colors, but most of them were blue, but all of them were panicked, flailing, running about, looking around for something or
someone. There were tell-tale signs they were supernatural... and even daemonic, given the tiny wings on their backs. But despite that, they actually prove to be quite harmless. At worst, they're nuisances. They seem to show no signs of actually wanting to fight, and would prefer to flee if able, but they can put up a token defense with their knives if cornered and pressed into a fight. ...That said, they're far too weak to be a threat to anyone with any sort of experience.
How they got on campus at all is unclear. Even they don't really understand how they were able to get in. Some aren't aware that there were wards at all, and others comment that they didn't stop them, for whatever reason.
AWhat they do when they're here is flit around the campus, pestering you and anyone else they can find with panicked questions. Sometimes it's about getting something to eat and drink, but more regularly it's a plea for help! Often, it starts with a simple line:
Hey, dood! Please, you gotta help me, dood! Something terrible's happened!BEventually a lot of the Prinnies, as it turns out they're called, make their way to one of the campus buildings and crowd their way into where the teachers' offices are... and they all seem to frantically be crowding into Valvatorez's office. A cacophony of Prinny voices, from pleas for aid and food to confused statements to what must be thousands of "doods" can be heard throughout the building, and over the mess of it all, one can finally hear the voice of a beleaguered Valvatorez break over the noise in a powerful shout.
"FOR ALL THAT IS UNHOLY, ONE AT A TIME."At once, the Prinnies seem to snap to attention and fall silent. If you can push your way into his office, you can see Valvatorez sitting at his desk, pinching his nose in tired frustration. He'll see you arrive, and look up at you.
"...I presume you're here to file a noise complaint?"
C (For Emizel)Turns out, it wasn't just Prinnies that made their way to Daybreak. One other daemon slipped in with them.
A daemon in a sharp suit, one that looked tough... but frayed out completely around the edges. The suit damaged and worn, looking like he had been treated for injuries that could've been severe. He too eventually made his way to Valvatorez's office, asking for a certain other daemon on campus. It was with that that Valvatorez called Emizel directly, and for him to come quickly; a member of the Abaddon Group had arrived here with some very bad news.
Once the boy arrived, Valvatorez waved him in, rose, and shut the door behind him. This much, for now, would be between the three of them.
DAfter the entire mess, it became clear that this was something neither daemon could handle themselves. Valvatorez called an emergency staff meeting with who he could round up, to appraise them of what he could. His tone, bearing, and overall composure was uncharacteristically serious, brooding, and intense... yet, oddly humble and calm.
...It meant things were very, very worrying.
"Thank you all for coming. Now that the matter surrounding our... visitors, has become clear, I can speak on it. ...Hades is in danger. On the razor's edge of falling into civil war, chaos, and disarray, if it hasn't already.
Death King Hugo has gone off the deep end. He has apparently been siphoning the magical energy of Hades for some unknown purpose, to the detriment of everyone who lives there. I cannot fathom why, but it can only be for foul intent. If something is not done, Hades might tear itself apart... and that might bring a Tyrant level daemon to bear against humankind in what is already its darkest hour. This cannot be allowed to stand.
The people of Hades are pleading for the Tyrant to return. They're asking for help. My help.
...And so
I must ask for yours. I do not have the strength to do it alone. Help me and Emizel save our home. Please."
