Open!
Who: Nana... and everyone!
What: Banana Stand, training, and dorm hijinks!
Where: The ubiquitous banana stand, out on campus, and Lumiere.
When: First half of August!
Warnings: There's going to be some screaming and panic in prompt three.
I. BANANA STAND
[August begins, classes are ready to start anew, and Nana Daiba is on hand.
The Banana Stand is back. It didn't make an appearance during July, between the Herald and people being gone. Now, though, the snack station is out on the Quad: a large, wooden stand with "BANANICE" painted across the top. Nana is working it -- possibly with help, if you're so inclined -- and handing out free cookies, muffins, slices of banana bread, and more. All of it is flavored, too, with bananas.
She's beaming brightly, waving at everyone -- especially the newer students -- and trying to get them to come over.]
II. WHEN BAKED GOODS GO WRONG
[Nana does a lot of her baking in Lumiere.
But baking at a school with as much magic and strangeness as Daybreak carries... risks. Such as when Nana finds ingredients for sale, which she thought were mundane but high quality, and are actually magical. In this case, it means that there is a rumble from the first floor kitchen -- then the door bursts open, and Nana goes running ahead of... something.]
I DON'T UNDERSTAAAAAAND!
[The something is about a baker's dozen giant banana muffins. They have grown arms and legs; they are groaning audibly, and one hurls a baking tray that Nana just ducks under, before they start to rush forward down the hall and roar.]
Why have my muffins turned against me!?
III. WAKING UP IS THE WORST PART
[Even after the Herald, the dreams don't stop.
Nana hasn't been sleeping so well since June. There's people she can turn to -- the few who know -- but she hides the fact that she is a Seer. Her visions come from the Giraffe; her visions are dreams, and less accurate and have a different cost. Unfortunately, they come more and more often now. Nana is falling asleep, periodically. Maybe it's in class.
Maybe it's out on campus, on a bench or at the side of a building. Maybe it's in a dorm common room. Either way, sometimes, she dozes off...
And then wakes up with a jolt and a start. Sometimes a gasp; occasionally a shout. Nightmares. It might not be the firs time.
ooc: If you'd like this prompt, feel free to set exact circumstances! Ask me if you have any questions.]

no subject
[Nana hesitates. She can't tell him that she's a Seer. He'd be furious.
And he shouldn't know. She should use it to keep him safe. Not worry him further.]
I've had a lot of nightmares about things that happened recently.
no subject
Aren't there?
He moves to sit on the bench beside her.]
no subject
[Nana sighs, quietly, and leans back against the bench. Her eyes look straight up at the sky, unblinking.]
It's hard to get it out of my head.
I'm sorry. I know we've been over this a lot.
no subject
Well... I've got time if you need a moment to figure out the words.
[He's always got time for Nana, like that was ever in question. Nothing for her could ever be a burden.]
no subject
[Nana bows her head, for a moment.]
...I don't know how to keep everyone safe.
no subject
Nana... it doesn't have to be all you, right? You take so much of it on yourself, but can't we do this together? It'll be easier that way.
[He holds his hand out, palm up.]
no subject
But she needs to do more. She has to do more, so they can all keep their happiness. But saying it feels wrong.
Maybe because it feels wrong, but she can't stop herself.]
...I know. It's not just me.
[She puts her hand on his, palm against palm, and feels sick at the lies she's told him.]
no subject
I... saw a memory of yours, when they were floating around. I'm sorry I took so long to tell you. But you're really in more pain than you tell people, aren't you?
[And he invaded that private moment between her and Kano, and he shouldn't be ripping the wound open but Kano isn't here anymore and who else is going to keep Nana from burning up in her own brightness?]
no subject
So she freezes.]
It's... I'm sorry you saw that. Which... ever memory you saw.
[Nana looks down, finally.]
...I have to learn to handle it.
no subject
It was after the Valentine's Day ball. With Kano. [When she fell apart at how it shook her and Yuya couldn't to more than bandage it. She wasn't okay when he let her go. Is she okay now?
Yuya shakes his head.] I know that was private, but... what you said...
no subject
[Nana looks down. Her fingers tense; they tighten into a fist, and her other hand grabs ahold of her wrist. Her shoulders shake, slightly.]
Yuya, that was...
I-I shouldn't have... I shouldn't have gotten so worked up about all that...
no subject
[No, that's not the point he wanted to make. He wants her to be able to depend on him, and he can't do that if he's a crybaby.]
no subject
[She shakes her head, and Nana runs her fingers down her face. She's wishing she could just turn back time.
But she can't.]
...I don't want to make any of you worry.
no subject
[Something like that doesn't make Nana anything less in his eyes. She always carries the biggest burden.]
And I'm not Kano, but I'd like to help when you don't feel strong, too.
no subject
[Nana squeezes his hand back, then she glances sideways at him, and shakes her head.]
You don't have to be Kano. He's... gone, anyways. For now, at least.
no subject
But I'm not going anywhere.
no subject
I know you'll be here. I know I can rely on you.
[She looks down. She just wishes she didn't have to; have to rely on them, have to hurt any of them.]
no subject
I won't go anywhere! I promise.
no subject
[There's a downward glance from Nana...
And yet, she's smiling.]
no subject
He moves to stand up, pulling on her hands to draw her with him.] All right, you have two choices--a nap, or caffeine.
no subject
She has to think for a second, before she smiles.]
I should do a nap. I don't want to give up on sleeping.
no subject
uggggh work has been at max levels of bullshit, v. sorry
Sleep time! And... and hopefully, a restful sleep. For once.]
