Bananas for All~

Who: Nana; open but some closed prompts might be put up as needed!
What: Various prompts for the first half of June! Including a student council election-related one.
When: Early June.
Where: Across campus.
Warnings: Probably not much, but will update.

1. THE AP-PEEL OF DEMOCRACY (open!)

[In early June, on the quad, Nana has set up one of her big campaign events: the bake sale to end all bake sales.

There is a huge booth there, and it has multiple people helping staff her campaign working it. The Banana Stand is more like a Banana Mart today. Nana's not often behind the counter; she's out mingling with the students who come by, handing over small plates with cookies and slices of banana bread and other delicious goodies. It's a social event!

She's in top form. She has her uniform on, but a sash declaring her a "PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFUL" on, and she's posing for photos and smiling. There's posters, buttons, and also a wooden cutout of a cute cartoon frog to get a picture with.]

2. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT (open!)

[Recent nightmares (both sleeping and the ones she experienced, firsthand, at the end of May) have Nana on the razor's edge, inside. She's stepped back from feeling so wound up that she might burst, but... she found herself lacking. She'd been defeated twice now.

She can internalize a lot of that, but it needs somewhere to come out.

Today's, she's back inside the Mythril Cages. It's not hard to find her, working through a form with a wooden practice katana -- making her way through it for the sixteenth time today. She has her hair tied back, and has an intense look on her face.

A lot of her strikes are a little too hard.]

Yuya... [There's a soft sigh, then Nana smiles. It's fond, rueful, and resigned all at once.]

You're very stubborn, you know that?

[Yuya snorts, pulling back and letting his hands slide to Nana's shoulders as he looks at her. Then he leans forward and knocks his forehead to hers, letting the sting ebb for a moment as he rests there.]

I think I have a good reason for it.

Mm... yes, you do. [She sighs, and leans her forehead against his.

And, really, she feels better... if only for a moment.]

How long have you been training?

[That'll be the deciding factor if he leaves her to it or drags her away.]

About two hours, so far... I should try to do some more, too.

[Not that she's been calm enough to train effectively.]

Well... when you want to take a break, you should come find me. [He grins wider.] We'll do something fun! Do you have a dress for prom yet?

[She nods. She can do that. Maybe training'll go better now that she's talked to Yuya.]

Not yet! I... maybe also need to ask Kano-kun, still.

Eh, you haven't asked him yet? [Yuya leans back a little.] But you're going to?

Yeah... I will. I haven't had time. There's been a lot going on, hasn't there?

[A whole lot, really.]

Yeah. [An overwhelming amount of things, and it's only going to pile up on Yuya the longer the month goes on.]

But I know, there's no way he'll say no if it's you asking. [And he winks.]

Mm... I hope not. But...

[She hesitates a second. She might be trying to read too much into things; knowing how much Kano hides makes him a lot harder to read.]

...I'm worried he'd say yes to make me happy, but wouldn't want to. He made a lot of people angry and if he didn't want to be out with them, I wouldn't blame him.

[Yuya pauses. Well, he doesn't doubt that part of Kano saying yes is to make her happy, just because he's not the kind of person who's into the school dances and wouldn't go otherwise. That other people will be mad... he's sure that's true, but he has a hard time imagining that Kano's going to care about something like that compared to the feelings of the people he actually cares about. And they've forgiven him (except Toki).

He puts a hand on Nana's shoulder.] I don't think that's something you'll need to worry about. The prom is for everyone to have fun, and if anyone tries to give him a hard time I'll deal with them!

[He pumps his other fist in the air in determination.] I think what you think about him means a lot more than any of those people who aren't his friends.

... But you could ask him on a private date instead. Just the two of you~!

[It's true. Nana doesn't realize it quite the same way, but she can guess -- he never went before, when she didn't ask him. It was only this year that they got close enough for her to do so. She sighs, a little, and then she looks down at the hand on her shoulder.]

I know you will. I suppose I--you know...

[She looks up, her expression becoming thoughtful.]

...That's a very good idea. I wouldn't mind seeing prom, but... I'd like to see him more. I'll ask.

Yeah, I'm going to root for you, Nana! [Get your boy!! Yuya draws back a little with a grin.] I bet Soleil will be empty of everyone at the school. You should ask him out!

All right! I'll have to figure out a place. Well... wish me luck?

[IS SHE GOING TO DO THIS RIGHT NOW??]

[Nana pulls her phone out.

Yep.

She's doing it right here. What could go wrong?]

[Yuya shuffles around to peer over her shoulder. So nosy.]

[After about five minutes after Kano goes quiet:]

...he must have had something come up.

He might be in class still. His guards are escorting him a lot more, lately.

[He pauses.] But if he says yes... I can have Odd-Eyes help you guys lose them for the night.

...that would be handy. It would kind of ruin the mood if we had guards with us the entire time.

[Yuya grins.] I'll tell you the best way to avoid them when the time comes, Okay?

[... Because he's done this multiple times, Yuya is a bad enabler.]

That would be perfect! I'm not very good at avoiding them, I'm afraid.

[It's never been her problem.]

[It involves going out the windows.]

It's a deal! [Yuya loops his arm with hers.] But in exchange, can I steal you for the afternoon?

That sounds like fun, Yuya!

[Besides if she waits for Kano to text her back, uhhhh, she's going to just.

Fret over her phone.
