Bananas for All~
Who: Nana; open but some closed prompts might be put up as needed!
What: Various prompts for the first half of June! Including a student council election-related one.
When: Early June.
Where: Across campus.
Warnings: Probably not much, but will update.
1. THE AP-PEEL OF DEMOCRACY (open!)
[In early June, on the quad, Nana has set up one of her big campaign events: the bake sale to end all bake sales.
There is a huge booth there, and it has multiple people helping staff her campaign working it. The Banana Stand is more like a Banana Mart today. Nana's not often behind the counter; she's out mingling with the students who come by, handing over small plates with cookies and slices of banana bread and other delicious goodies. It's a social event!
She's in top form. She has her uniform on, but a sash declaring her a "PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFUL" on, and she's posing for photos and smiling. There's posters, buttons, and also a wooden cutout of a cute cartoon frog to get a picture with.]
2. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT (open!)
[Recent nightmares (both sleeping and the ones she experienced, firsthand, at the end of May) have Nana on the razor's edge, inside. She's stepped back from feeling so wound up that she might burst, but... she found herself lacking. She'd been defeated twice now.
She can internalize a lot of that, but it needs somewhere to come out.
Today's, she's back inside the Mythril Cages. It's not hard to find her, working through a form with a wooden practice katana -- making her way through it for the sixteenth time today. She has her hair tied back, and has an intense look on her face.
A lot of her strikes are a little too hard.]

closed to Minako; early morning on June 4
But these are different. Nana's gotten a sort of equilibrium with her visions: they come as dreams, they're cartoon-like, and they're abstract and sudden enough to not be all that useful. But then the entirely not-abstracted, four-eyed face looking at her.
It's watching her, and she knows it. One night, it comes after a disturbing dream where her friends' rooms are stacked with coffins and no one answers when she calls. The world fades to grey, and she's alone...
...but not, with that face. Watching her.
Nana screams herself awake, throwing her blanket to the side. Face slick with sweat, heart pounding, breathing heavy. She sits up, staring into her dark room, and terrified of what face will be looking back at her.]
whelp
Looking over at the other bed, at Nana sitting up staring out into space, Minako realizes that no, that wasn't a dream. ]
Nana..?
[ It comes out a bit groggy, as Minako forces herself to wake up and focus. Let's try that again. ]
Hey, are you okay?
I remember when we first talked this CR and said it'd hurt and HERE WE GO
This isn't normal.
Having someone -- something -- watch her, when she's facing the fear of being alone, is the sort of experience to jolt her awake. Her eyes are wide and terrified when she catches Minako's. Two eyes, she tells herself. Two, not four, and it's Minako and she's not alone -- or worse, alone except for that thing.
But she's still Nana Daiba, and that means she tries to lie. It's a weak, pathetic lie; it comes out with a shaking voice, her hand covering her face, and a shake of her head that gives everything away.] I--I'm fine, just...
[No, it's a lie, and it dies on her lips.]
whelp
That was what Nana saw, wasn't it?
Without a word, Minako crosses the room. It doesn't take much, just a few steps to close the distance between their beds; a knee raised as she pulls herself up next to Nana and pulls the taller girl into the strongest hug that she can muster. Words wouldn't suffice here—they would only give Nana more space to try to convince Minako (and herself) that she was all right. It's okay to not be all right, she wouldn't think any less of her. ]
owwwww my heart

Nana~! How's your plan for the banana tree grove going~!?
no subject
I've got a whole plan drawn up!
no subject
That's great~! Everything is set up really nice here! But! I do have one question...
[He gestures to the frog cutout with his muffin.]
What's with the frog?

Which means Ren is behind the counter, serving up goodies with a smile and aplomb as he campaigns for Nana wholeheartedly.]

[Nana's been giving out samples. She drops her emptied tray off, and walks over, then grins at Ren.] Thank you for helping! How have you enjoyed it so far?

[Possibly more for the baked goods than the budding student democracy but hey, details]

Um, excuse me! [ Just kind of flagging down Nana. ] Did you make all these?
[ Because, if so: wow! ]
no subject
Nana stares at him for a moment, tries to not make an 'eeeee' noise, and then she claps her hands together happily.
She nods.] Yes! Well... sort of. They're my recipe, and I helped cook them, but my campaign staff also helped me do the baking.
no subject
They taste really good, too. I hope I can make stuff that tastes just as good someday.
[ He blinks for a moment, and then suddenly remembers that he should probably introduce himself or something? Right, manners. ] Oh, um. Hi! I'm Vivi! I'm new.
Your name's, um...Nana, right? It's nice to meet you.
[ He sticks out a gloved hand, awkwardly polite. ]

Miss Daiba?

It's a little apologetic.]
Ah, sorry. Was I distracting you, Professor Kiske?
no subject
Not at all, I hope you didn't mind that I was watching for the last while.

2,
He watches her for a moment in silence before speaking up.]
Pretending to beat someone up?
no subject
She looks up at him, then she smiles, and slings the sword across her shoulder.]
Well... after a fashion. I'm afraid I got a little too into the form.
no subject
So who're you trying to beat up?
[The question's asked with pure nonchalance. This is apparently a perfectly valid and normal way to feel in Keith's book.]

Nana notices him a little early into it. She finishes her form, though; she spins her sword, and then slides it down at her side, making it out like she's sheathing a katana. Nana turns, then, and her eyes turn to where Yuya is.]
I see you over there.

And also look at the frog cutout while chowing down on a muffin. If Nana comes by, he'll ask: ]

I think so! It's new, but I like it.
