Bananas for All~
Who: Nana; open but some closed prompts might be put up as needed!
What: Various prompts for the first half of June! Including a student council election-related one.
When: Early June.
Where: Across campus.
Warnings: Probably not much, but will update.
1. THE AP-PEEL OF DEMOCRACY (open!)
[In early June, on the quad, Nana has set up one of her big campaign events: the bake sale to end all bake sales.
There is a huge booth there, and it has multiple people helping staff her campaign working it. The Banana Stand is more like a Banana Mart today. Nana's not often behind the counter; she's out mingling with the students who come by, handing over small plates with cookies and slices of banana bread and other delicious goodies. It's a social event!
She's in top form. She has her uniform on, but a sash declaring her a "PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFUL" on, and she's posing for photos and smiling. There's posters, buttons, and also a wooden cutout of a cute cartoon frog to get a picture with.]
2. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT (open!)
[Recent nightmares (both sleeping and the ones she experienced, firsthand, at the end of May) have Nana on the razor's edge, inside. She's stepped back from feeling so wound up that she might burst, but... she found herself lacking. She'd been defeated twice now.
She can internalize a lot of that, but it needs somewhere to come out.
Today's, she's back inside the Mythril Cages. It's not hard to find her, working through a form with a wooden practice katana -- making her way through it for the sixteenth time today. She has her hair tied back, and has an intense look on her face.
A lot of her strikes are a little too hard.]

Minako knows the signs, because she has been guilty of them herself.
Letting Nana speak, the pieces start falling into place. She's a Seer, that much Minako had begun to pick up on; but she could only imagine how difficult it must be to get a peek into the future, and be completely unable to change things.
She doesn't give Nana's words room to settle this time. ]
I think even trying to do something is important. Not everyone is strong enough to be able to do even that. So even if you stumble, you're still changing fate in your own way, even if you can't see how yet.
[ Slowly, Minako pulls away, her hands still rested on Nana's shoulders, anchoring her. ]
You have to keep trying, no matter what. We all have to keep trying. Even if it doesn't seem like it's working now, we will get through this, all of us. Things will work out, I promise.

And on the one hand, it's wonderful.
It's like hearing that the faith she was losing is shared by someone else. That, maybe, she can do something -- that all of them can do something. She wipes at her eyes, blinking back tears.
Because on the other hand, it's awful.
They have to keep trying, no matter what. She can't rest. She can't let up. She has to believe the end goal is worth it -- and everyone, all of them, have to survive. She looks down at the hands on her shoulders, trembling, and then back up at her roommate with her eyes still stinging. Slowly, she nods her head.
And she smiles, and it's not forced; it's hopeful, and tear-streaked, and so bright that it hurts to wear and maybe even look at.]
O...okay. I'll keep trying. Because... because it's worth it, anything's worth it, if we all get to stay together.

Seeing Nana smile, she believes she's done just that. It's a relief, and as her expression softens, Minako lets her hands trail down to Nana's hands, clasping them tightly. It's okay, she's here. ]
Mm. And if you ever feel like it's too much, you don't have to face it alone.
[ Hypocrite.
Pausing to let her words sink in, Minako breaks her gaze briefly to look over at her bed as an idea starts to form. Turning her attention back to Nana, her smile grows light. ]
Sit there for a sec, and close your eyes. Can you do that for me, Nana-chan?

And, maybe, feeling like she can keep them safe -- like she has to keep them safe -- is the same as feeling like she isn't alone. She can protect them, and she won't lose them.
Her breath is a little uneven, as she watches Minako look at the bed, then at her again. Her eyes blink; it makes a few tears roll down her cheeks, but the question distracts her and that does a lot to stop the vicious cycle in her mind.]
I, um... s-sure, I can close my eyes.
[She does, and wipes at her eyes. But she stays still on the bed. And she resist the urge to peek because it's still there, no matter what.]

What is she planning..? ]
Aaaandβ [ The sound stops. ] There, perfect~
[ Two beds have become one! Kind of! ]

But she closes her eyes and stops watching because it's rude to ruin her roommate's attempt at a surprise. Besides, she doesn't quite see. Until... she does, opening her eyes to look at them.
She blinks a couple of times... and then the smile is real, and not as painfully bright.]
Minako-chan... thanks.
[Because falling asleep by herself sounded terrible. She feels a dread she didn't know was pent-up start to vanish.]
You're a really good friend, do you know that?
