open!
Who: Ana Rose & you!
What: Galra things happened and now Ana's trying to go about business as usual.
When: December 7th and beyond, with a gap between the 8th-11th
Where: The infirmary and other places on campus.
Warnings: There's discussion of what happened during the Galra plot. Please let me know if you'd like me to avoid bringing this up and I'll be happy to oblige!
the infirmary - december 7th
[ ana naturally finds herself in the infirmary after being rescued by daybreak's forces. she's definitely recognizable as being one of the hostages that were taken, given the two scars that curve upwards on her cheeks. (not purple, but still very much there.) she's lying in bed and can be seen picking at her food. there's a cup of water beside her plate that's still halfway full.
if someone comes into the infirmary to visit, whether it be her or another patient, she'll turn her head and blink blearily at the newcomer and nod in greeting. ]
the anvil - december 12th
[ after disappearing yet again for a few days, anastasia can be spotted at the anvil, attempting to forge something out of a pretty-looking opal. it shimmers underneath the light of the factory, and she seems to be doing something very precision-based with how she's looking at the stone.
she's very focused but it seems as though she hasn't neglected to be aware of her surroundings. as soon as someone approaches, she speaks. ]
Do you need something?
the library - after december 12th
[ ana being in the library is not unusual at this point. by now you've probably seen her reading up on runes at least once. this time, she's reading a book about healing runes -- though those who get closer will notice that she's not reading intently like she usually does. it looks like she's just sort of blankly staring at the pages and not really absorbing the information.
it's unusual, but probably unsurprising, given everything that's happened. ]
wildcard.
[ hit me up with basically anything fam. ]

If you want healing runes, Lewett's Tome of Regeneration explains it more clearly than what you have. There are even a few that are specifically for... scars.

when the girl mentions scars...it piques her interest. ana's eyes widen slightly. ]
Do they? ... Could you show me?
no subject
[Sure enough, a configuration for effectively healing scars from cuts and tears is on that page.]
...I understand better than most that scars are reminders. They tell the story behind them every time you see them, and it's rare that they're signs of triumph like mine.
I'm pretty good with runes myself, if you'd accept some help putting it together.

[ she falls silent for a moment, seemingly considering this. ]
...Okay. If that's something you wouldn't mind helping me with, I'll take you up on that offer.

[Weiss places a bookmark in the Tomb of Regeneration and stands up.]
We can start whenever you're ready.

infirmary; she volunteers there so
The girl's carrying a small plate with a few of her cookies on it; the box that Lancer had carried for her last week was still sitting around here somewhere, but these were fresher. She wanted to bring something with her, but she's noticed that Ana hasn't been eating too much, so she didn't want to bring too much with her, either.]
Hey, Ana. You in a mood for some cookies? I got peanut butter.
[She's also intending to offer her hands for a minute or two, to use her Candle ability to hasten recovery slightly, if Ana's still actually recovering as opposed to just being monitored at this point, but she feels that she shouldn't go directly into that, so the cookies come first.]

ana frowns and looks towards the wall in front of her. ]
I'm okay. Thank you for the offer.
[ she's praying that becky doesn't comment on the marks on her cheeks, now. ]

[She knows better than to make any remarks on anyone's injuries—or scars—when she's not actually there to specifically address those, and especially not so soon. Right now, her job is really just checking on people, giving them a little company if they welcome it, offering snacks to those who want any and giving a little push to those who need (and want) it.
She sets the plate aside for now, just on a nearby table, and walks up a bit closer.]
You wanna talk a bit? [And realizing that Ana might assume she means about, well, all of this, she adds:] Whatever you wanna talk about, doesn't have to be what happened.

[ it's the most honest answer she's given all day. her default answer to whenever people ask if she's alright is she's okay, she's holding up considerably well, she doesn't need any help. it's all wrong. she needs all the help she can get.
but she doesn't know if she can return to normalcy just yet. yet, she knows she has to try. ]
... Tell me a story? Something pleasant that happened to you recently, perhaps.

Hello. Are you feeling well? All of that seemed...

[ she stares at kokoro for a bit before she looks down at her hands. ]
I'm holding up well, all things considered.

Infirmary
[ It doesn't even feel weird anymore to be stuck in the infirmary, not alone and certainly not together with Ana. James still can't believe the bad luck it'd take for this to hit not only him but her as well. ]
no subject
How are you feeling?
no subject
Not sure. Kind of... getting numb? Which is better than being terrified.
[ He's sure the terror will hit him again later, it always does. ]
You?
no subject
[ she is concerned because of the bite, but... ]
I'm doing alright, all things considered. The physical damage could have been worse.
[ the mental scars will still remain, though. ]

the anvil
[ He's here again to try and work on his staff, whittling away at a design he thinks is good (that's called a 'prototype', apparently). But there's so many interesting things here that he can't help but look now and then. ]
Is that okay? If it's a secret, I can go away.
[ What he doesn't really say is that he wants an excuse to talk to Ana because Ana seems sad and he doesn't like that. ]
no subject
[ he's such a good soul that ana doesn't have the heart to turn him away. she looks up and pauses what she's doing, offers him a small smile and shakes her head. ]
Please, stay if you'd like. I think the company would be nice.
no subject
What are you making? It looks pretty.
no subject
[ she's carefully writing out the inscription on the stone. ]
You think it looks nice, do you? ... I could make you one too, if you wanted.

wildcard; while ana absconds
why are you missing AGAIN
no subject
Right.
I told faculty, but I suppose I forgot to tell the rest of you as well. I'm visiting Lance in Cuba for a few days.
Are you worried?
no subject
yeah?
well that's fine then
who'd be worried about people disappearing without a word after that crap anyway
no subject
Alright. I hear your sarcasm, and I sincerely apologize for worrying you. I haven't been thinking straight for these past couple of days, obviously.
