open!
Who: Ana Rose & you!
What: Galra things happened and now Ana's trying to go about business as usual.
When: December 7th and beyond, with a gap between the 8th-11th
Where: The infirmary and other places on campus.
Warnings: There's discussion of what happened during the Galra plot. Please let me know if you'd like me to avoid bringing this up and I'll be happy to oblige!
the infirmary - december 7th
[ ana naturally finds herself in the infirmary after being rescued by daybreak's forces. she's definitely recognizable as being one of the hostages that were taken, given the two scars that curve upwards on her cheeks. (not purple, but still very much there.) she's lying in bed and can be seen picking at her food. there's a cup of water beside her plate that's still halfway full.
if someone comes into the infirmary to visit, whether it be her or another patient, she'll turn her head and blink blearily at the newcomer and nod in greeting. ]
the anvil - december 12th
[ after disappearing yet again for a few days, anastasia can be spotted at the anvil, attempting to forge something out of a pretty-looking opal. it shimmers underneath the light of the factory, and she seems to be doing something very precision-based with how she's looking at the stone.
she's very focused but it seems as though she hasn't neglected to be aware of her surroundings. as soon as someone approaches, she speaks. ]
Do you need something?
the library - after december 12th
[ ana being in the library is not unusual at this point. by now you've probably seen her reading up on runes at least once. this time, she's reading a book about healing runes -- though those who get closer will notice that she's not reading intently like she usually does. it looks like she's just sort of blankly staring at the pages and not really absorbing the information.
it's unusual, but probably unsurprising, given everything that's happened. ]
wildcard.
[ hit me up with basically anything fam. ]

[She knows better than to make any remarks on anyone's injuries—or scars—when she's not actually there to specifically address those, and especially not so soon. Right now, her job is really just checking on people, giving them a little company if they welcome it, offering snacks to those who want any and giving a little push to those who need (and want) it.
She sets the plate aside for now, just on a nearby table, and walks up a bit closer.]
You wanna talk a bit? [And realizing that Ana might assume she means about, well, all of this, she adds:] Whatever you wanna talk about, doesn't have to be what happened.

[ it's the most honest answer she's given all day. her default answer to whenever people ask if she's alright is she's okay, she's holding up considerably well, she doesn't need any help. it's all wrong. she needs all the help she can get.
but she doesn't know if she can return to normalcy just yet. yet, she knows she has to try. ]
... Tell me a story? Something pleasant that happened to you recently, perhaps.

It's a little short and I dunno if I'd call it a pleasant story, maybe more of a funny one, but back at the dorms I've started trying to do a little more than just baking things lately. [She totally still mostly bakes, but because she's in cooking club she's started working at branching out.] There's this gumbo recipe I found online and Lia and I tried it out after I made it.
I uh. Kinda went too hard on the pepper and the seasoning, maybe? It tasted fine to me but Lia kept saying it was too hot and demanded one of my sodas for, and I quote, "setting my whole face on fire."

Of course something like that would happen. Lia never struck me as the type who'd be fond of spicy foods. Then again, you didn't either -- and I was pleasantly surprised to find out you were.

[Becky didn't strike Ana as the sort of person to like spicy stuff? She wonders why.]
Hey, speaking of spicy, you should show me what you did for that curry sometime, after you're let out of here.

[ increase spice levels. ]
And of course. It'd be cruel to not share a recipe with a fellow cooking club member, after all.
